Former National Officer of the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo, has asserted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is employing intimidation tactics to disrupt the activities of the opposition in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.
During an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday, Okonkwo mentioned that the ADC has been subjected to repeated attacks while conducting meetings in various states.
“The ADC is facing significant challenges. The APC is employing every method to intimidate and undermine the opposition's plans,” he stated.
Okonkwo pointed to incidents in Kaduna, Lagos, and Ekiti States where ADC gatherings were reportedly disrupted by thugs allegedly operating under the oversight of security agencies.
He accused the APC of manipulating security institutions to hinder opposition parties, which goes against the provisions of the Electoral Act that guarantee equal protection for all political parties.
Okonkwo expressed optimism that the ADC will establish the next government, describing the APC as a party that is “already imploding.”
“The ADC is poised to form the next government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are strategizing, and we are determined to overcome the APC. They are already imploding as these endorsements represent merely a collection of sycophants,” he added.
