Bafana Bafana of South Africa captain, Ronwen Williams has said it is important for the team to secure maximum points in their match against Nigeria.

Hugo Broos’ side will host the Super Eagles in a crucial Group D encounter at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein on Tuesday night.

Bafana Bafana are in driving seat in Group C with 16 points from seven games.

The Super Eagles are further back in third position with seven points from same number of matches.

South Africa will book their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a win against the Super Eagles if result from other matches go in their favour.

Williams, who plays for South African club Mamelodi Sundowns however said they are only concerned with the Nigeria game, and not result from elsewhere.

“The most important thing is to get the job done. We do not want any favours from anyone, we want to do things our way,” Williams was quoted by Safa.net.
