Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has reignited tensions with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
According to DAILY POST, Obasanjo and Fayose, who have had a long-standing political conflict, were reported to have reconciled recently.
Obasanjo attended Fayose’s 65th birthday celebration in Lagos on Saturday, where he made some critical remarks regarding the former governor’s past attacks on his character, but stated that he had forgiven Fayose.
However, in a 'Thank You' text message sent to Obasanjo, which was shared in a statement by the former president's Media Aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, Fayose expressed his displeasure over the comments.
Part of the message states, “Dear Baba Obasanjo, I hope this message finds you well. I appreciate your presence at my birthday party, but I take issue with your very irresponsible comments, especially at your age.
“You have stooped so low, but I am not surprised, as someone once suggested that you ought to be kept away in a zoo. Honestly, that seems to be where you belong.
“I chose to remain silent during your speech to demonstrate the contrast between a rational person and the madness you exhibit. It is clear that you have also lost your sanity, or should I say, are in an advanced stage of dementia.
“Not to worry, Baba. I will clarify the facts in due time.”
