Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Professor Mohammed Bashir Tahir as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Yobe State University, Damaturu.
This was made known in a statement by the University’s Chairman Governing Council, Alhaji Ahmed Mustapha Goniri, which indicated that the appointment was approved following a recommendation by the Governing Council of the University at its extraordinary meeting held on 15 January 2026.
“Prof. Mohammed Bashir is a Professor of General Surgery, a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons. Until his appointment, he is the Medical Director of the Ultra-Modern Police Hospital, Damaturu”, the Chairman said.
Similarly, the Governing Council has approved the appointment of Mallam Isa Audu Dallari as the substantive Registrar of Yobe State University, Damaturu, at its extraordinary meeting held on 15 January 2026.
The appointment was approved following a recommendation by the Selection Committee, in accordance with the Yobe State University Law, 2006 (as amended).
Mallam Isa Audu Dallari is currently a Director of Administration at Yobe State University, Damaturu.
