has since been and has a huge first game in charge against bitter rivals Manchester City on Saturday.
superstar Littler, 19, was quizzed on his beloved United this week and the decision to pull the plug on Amorim.
The said: “Obviously Darren’s come in, the same players as Ruben, changes formation and yeah, he’s not done the best, Darren.
“It’s going to be the same with Michael Carrick. He’ll bring his tactics in but it’s about the players.
“For me, I think we should have kept Ruben. Now Amad (Diallo) and (Bryan) Mbeumo have been knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations.
“Hopefully they can come to the Manchester Derby and we can get that win.”
Littler did insist that Carrick’s status as a club legend and experience playing in top games for United would help his cause – and feels could benefit.

He added: “I think it should help. Obviously with the experience he’s and he can give that to the midfielders.
“Kobbie Mainoo, hopefully, he can really get a chance now. Obviously Darren give him a chance as well.
“But yeah, he’s got the experience there, so he should be passing it on to the players in the midfield. Because the midfield is the hardest position.”
He said United should be chasing a European spot but claimed they might have to settle for a place in the .
“It’s a 40-game season now, which we haven’t had since 1900. Or whenever it was. My dad told me the other day. I can’t remember the number.
“It is what it is. As long as we get back into the Europa League I think we’ll do good. But if we finish in the Conference League spot then yeah, it’s just as bad.”
United are still in a good position despite their mixed fortunes and are just one point off fifth place, which should be enough for football this season.
Carrick faces a tough run of fixtures as he prepares for the Manchester Derby, with games against league leaders and Tottenham just around the corner.
