Wynne Evans has claimed he is no longer friends with his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones after she refused to publicly support him.
over inappropriate sexual remarks.
Now, TikTok users have asked Wynne on the platform whether he is still friends with dancer Katya, whom he was paired up with on the BBC show, and EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick – who also took part on the same series.
Responding with a video answer about his relationship with both stars, Wynne said: “Short answer: no.
“Longer answer, of course they all reached out to me when I left and privately they all gave me their support. But when I asked them to do it publicly, they said they’d have to check with their publicists.”
Wynne went on to claim that Katya and Jamie were worried their careers would suffer if they were seen publicly speaking out in aid of him.
He continued: “I kind of understood that, even though, I’m a guy who, if I’m your friend I’m your friend through thick and thin.
“That really surprised me about the whole celebrity community, I thought they were my friends but actually it was c***.
“All my friends from opera, no problem at all, I hear from them all the time. So yeah, no I don’t hear from them.”
But there is one Strictly connection Wynne has kept, and it’s with judge Anton Du Beke.
“Anton is the exception to the rule, I’ve heard from Anton, he’s a top bloke,” said Wynne, who added that they are still in contact now.
Wynne’s axing came after a string of controversies for the star, who previously apologised after he was to co-star Jamie while standing beside dancer Janette Manrara.
He also sparked controversy in the last series for appearing to touch pro partner inappropriately around her waist on live , before she moved his hand away.
In another awkward moment she snubbed his attempt at a high-five, suggesting to viewers Wynne had upset her.
They called it an “in-joke” and Katya later defended him on TV and , supporting his claim and saying there was no problem.
