Egypt winger, Mohamed Salah, has expressed happiness after his side recorded their first win at the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament.

Salah was on the scoresheet as Egypt defeated New Zealand 3-1 in the early hours of today.

The result leaves Egypt at the top of Group G with four points from two matches.

They’re ahead of Iran, Belgium and New Zealand on the standings.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Salah said aas quoted by FIFA’s website, “It’s incredible.

“I don’t know how to express it in words. It’s a great achievement for all the players, for the staff, so hopefully we can carry on like this in the group, and we can write history and qualify, and in years to come it will be remembered as one of the best achievements in the history [of Egyptian football].

“We have to enjoy today, enjoy tomorrow, then focus on the next game.”
