A BUSINESSWOMAN has died after undergoing a six-in-one cosmetic surgery on her face and neck which left her struggling to breathe

Andreia Vieira Gaspar, 51, died just hours after leaving hospital in Brazil as her face quickly reacted to the surgery and was left heavily swollen.

Andreia spent 10 hours on the operating table but after she left the doctors her condition rapidly deteriorated.

She struggled with intense pain throughout night before tragically passing away in Goiânia just after telling her sister she felt like she was dying.

Andreia’s “dream” operation saw her get a deep-plane facelift, forehead lift, bony genioplasty, blepharoplasty, neck liposuction, and nanofat injection.

The rare six-in-one surgery cost almost £17,000 with Andreia saving up for the operation for years.

Before she passed, the businesswoman reportedly told her sister, Djiane Vieira, she was “dying” and needed urgent help due to her breathing issues worsening.

Djiane immediately texted the medical team, begging for help, saying: “My sister is dying.

“Please, for God’s sake.”

She then claims to have texted the cosmetic surgeons asking why no one was coming to help Andreia.

Medics did arrive but by then Andreia’s condition had become unsavable.

A medical report seen by Andreia’s family listed her cause of death as acute thrombosis – a stationary blood clot – and pulmonary infarction – an area of lung tissue that dies because a blood clot cuts off its blood and oxygen supply.

Andreia’s family have questioned the post-op care provided and have asked why she only received medical assistance after her condition deteriorated.

They also claim the hospital did not have an intensive care unit.

The Goiás Public Prosecutor’s Office have requested a police investigation be opened up into possible involuntary manslaughter.

Andreia’s surgeon, Dr Lessandro Martins, said he was deeply saddened by her death and “sympathises with the pain of her family”.

He added that he was confident “the investigation will demonstrate that the care provided was appropriate”.

Cristiene Pereira Couto, a lawyer for Ankar Hospital, said: “The patient received immediate emergency treatment, with medical and nursing staff providing care and taking the necessary measures in response to her condition.

“They stressed that her pre-operative assessment and tests were carried out externally before she was admitted to Ankar Hospital for the surgery.

“Once the emergency occurred, she was promptly attended to by the staff present, who used the necessary hospital facilities and carried out the appropriate emergency measures.”

Andreia had first contacted Dr Martins’ medical team on social media to arrange the surgery over text.

She had saved up for two years before she travelled to Brazil for her “dream” surgery.

Djiane recalled: “It’s not easy to put together BRL 118,000 ($22,918) on a salary.”
