Arise TV anchor, Rufai Oseni, has urged the Inspector General of Police to remove the officers assigned to protect President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
This call came after an accusation that Seyi was moving around with a large security detail.
Soyinka, in a video circulating on X, expressed his surprise upon encountering what he described as a small battalion of heavily armed security personnel guarding Seyi during a visit to a hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos.
He mentioned that he initially thought a film shoot was taking place due to the overwhelming number of armed individuals present.
While discussing the viral video on the Live Morning Show, Rufai stated that despite President Tinubu’s order for the IGP to withdraw officers from Very Important Persons (VIPs), Seyi would continue to be accompanied by police officers.
“No one has the authority to remove police protection from Seyi Tinubu,” he asserted during the live television segment.
In the video, Reuben Abati was heard asking Rufai, “even the IGP, the Inspector General of Police?” Rufai replied, “they have no power over him.”
