VIEWERS watching the Winter Olympics have been left concerned by a reporter’s slurred and rambling delivery on live TV.
Australian presenter Danika Mason stumbled over sentences and even likened her co-host to a “frozen iguana” during a live cross on the Channel Nine breakfast show on Wednesday morning.

Reporting on the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics from Italy, Mason was standing outside in a snowstorm when she lost her train of thought.
During the bizarre segment, she said: “The price of coffee over here is actually fine… it’s actually the price of coffee in the US we have to get used to… I’m not sure about the iguanas?
“Where are we going with that one? Anyway, let’s get into today’s sport because there’s plenty happening back home…”
At one point, she even rolled on the ground to create snow angels.
Today host Karl Stefanovic attempted to explain the situation, putting the awkward delivery down to the cold.
He said: “You get out of a car over there (in ) and there is such a cold wind, you can’t actually move your lips.”
Mason could be seen giggling at Stefanovic’s comment before the camera cut back to the main studio.
The unusual broadcast sparked speculation on social media, with viewers puzzled about Mason’s condition.
One user posted: “I think Danika is a bit under the weather.”
But, others said the segment had brightened their morning.
One user posted: “Danika’s sports reports this morning have literally made my day! Thanks Danni!”
Meanwhile, insiders have hit out at how the broadcast continued to air live.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph a Channel 9 personality, who wished to remain anonymous, said Stefanovic and Azzopardi should have cut Mason off.
“Even if producers didn’t cut her off, Karl and Jayne (Azzopardi) have been in this game long enough to know she should not have been on air,” the source said.
Adding: “There’s an entire control room of staff who could have cut her from the broadcast.”
TV insiders said Nine is now examining how the control room allowed the broadcast to proceed, with Mason appearing on air over a period of hours.
“Why did she keep getting let back on? It was clear early”, a source told The Daily Mail.
Mason has been reporting on the Winter Olympics since the start of the month.
Her coverage has included amusing crosses around the Olympic village.
Snowboard sensation Valentino Guseli took her up the lift to the top of the jump for the big air events, where Mason confessed her fear of heights.
