Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has asserted that the minister’s influence will secure more votes for President Bola Tinubu in Osun State than the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ajibola Basiru.

Olayinka stated that Basiru, who was unable to secure the APC governorship nomination in Osun State, is now seeking to intervene in the political dynamics of Rivers State.

In a Facebook post, Olayinka remarked: “Someone who aspired for an APC governorship ticket but was unsuccessful.

“Now, he wants to come to another state to assist someone else.

“In Osun State, Wike’s influence will undoubtedly provide President Tinubu with more votes than Ajibola Basiru.

“Wike’s message to Ajibola Basiru is straightforward.

“Stay in your lane; let me stay in mine. Do not meddle in Rivers. He should not impose himself in another person’s domain.

“Politics is local; it is rooted in the community.

“In 2023, as a sitting Senator and Spokesperson of the Senate, Ajibola Basiru lost his re-election campaign.

“How can someone who could not win his own election as a serving senator and Senate Spokesperson come to Rivers to assist someone else?

“However, I encourage Mr. Ajibola Basiru to use that confidence he carries to unite all parties in Osun State for President Tinubu, just as Wike has successfully done in Rivers State first.”
