The host of Brekete Family, a Human Rights Radio and Television program, Ahmed Isah, commonly referred to as “Ordinary President,” has praised Naval officer Lt. A.M. Yerima for his behavior during a confrontation with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and officials from the FCT Administration.

He made his remarks while urging Wike or President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to issue an apology regarding the Minister’s disrespectful remarks towards Lt. Yerima.

During the Brekete Family program on Wednesday, the Ordinary President stated: “Nigerians, if we are under any illusions, it is not democracy that is keeping this country [Nigeria] united.

“If the military decides to withdraw its involvement in matters concerning this country, we are all doomed. I am not advocating for the military to intimidate anyone, nor will I endorse disrespect towards the military.

“What transpired yesterday involved a soldier who stood his ground [Lt. Yerima representing Tinubu and Nigerians], and Wike showed him disrespect, while those around Wike failed to advise him appropriately.

“I expected Wike to apologize since yesterday, yet he has not done so. This Lieutenant Yerima exemplifies the discipline of our Nigerian military. Let us acknowledge him.

“He calmly de-escalated the situation. Lieutenant Yerima, we take pride in you; you have made the military and Nigerians proud. We are awaiting Wike’s unqualified apology.

“If Wike fails to apologize, then Tinubu must apologize on his behalf. We insist on an apology. This situation is becoming excessive; those around him should offer him guidance. Where is El-Rufai today?”

According to DAILY POST, personnel from the Nigerian military, led by Lt. Yerima, prevented Wike and FCT Administration officials from accessing a piece of land in the FCT on Tuesday.

Wike could be heard demanding that they present the land documents.

The Minister insisted that the soldiers cease denying FCTA officials access to the premises, claiming that the property lacked documentation.

However, Naval officer Lt. Yerima maintained that he was following orders from his superiors and advised the minister to address his concerns with them.
