A Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Comrade Austin Okai, has forecasted that the conflict between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, will ultimately lead to the downfall of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to DAILY POST, Wike and Fubara have recently reignited their dispute, with the Minister expressing intentions to hinder the governor’s re-election efforts.

Fubara, now affiliated with the ruling party, does, however, have the support of several prominent APC leaders.

In response, Wike warned the party's influential figures to stay out of Rivers State politics, a statement that has sparked a heated exchange between him and the national leadership of the ruling party.

During an interview on TVC News on Tuesday, Okai predicted that the ongoing crisis will extend to other regions of the country.

He stated, “Wike didn’t just confront the APC National Secretary; he also took on the NSA and others. For over a decade, conflicts within ruling parties often begin in Rivers State.

“What is occurring in Rivers will engulf the APC unless the president demonstrates political courage and addresses the FCT Minister. Wike has claimed that his political survival hinges on Rivers State, and we are unaware of the agreement between him and the president.

“Wike is asserting himself even more than the APC National Chairman, the NSA, and the Chief of Staff to the President. He is speaking out more than the president himself.”
