Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, referred to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as a friend who is always willing to assist him whenever needed.
Fayose made this statement while clarifying his lack of involvement in government contracts within Ekiti State.
During the inauguration of the Igbaraodo-Ikogosi road, which celebrated Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s third year in office, Fayose denied any association with a flyover bridge project in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
He stated: “I’m not a contractor, nor do I receive government contracts; I’ve outgrown that role.”
“My friend Wike, wouldn’t he help me if I needed something? He is my friend. There’s nothing in Ekiti that anyone could take from here.”
The former governor also expressed his support for Oyebanji’s candidacy for a second term.
He remarked: “For me and everyone I represent, we will stand by you.”
“During my time as governor, I waged a constant battle. I fought relentlessly throughout the day and night.”
