Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose stated on Monday that he faced challenges "morning, afternoon, and night" throughout his time in office.
Fayose remarked that the current governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, is leading with ease.
He made these comments during the inauguration of the Igbaraodo-Ikogosi road, part of the celebrations marking Oyebanji's third year in office.
Fayose praised Oyebanji for his developmental achievements in the state since taking office.
He said, “I am here to celebrate Ekiti with you. You have elevated the standard, united everyone, and transformed this state into one of purpose and unity, regardless of our political affiliations.”
“I want to make it clear that I am not a member of your party, nor will I ever be. I am a member of the PDP, but I celebrate a governor who has demonstrated the ability to make significant changes.”
“During my time as governor, I was constantly fighting battles. Morning, afternoon, and night, it was all battles.”
“You are serving the people of Ekiti with comfort. If there had been no distractions during the primary election, you wouldn’t realize the importance of God's favor.”
“Those individuals online, who are not from Ekiti and make noise, I choose not to mention their names because doing so would only give them relevance.”
“The impressive work you have accomplished speaks volumes. We support you, and anyone who does not back this governor will only bring shame upon themselves.”
