A Nigerian cyber security expert based in South Africa, Charles Awuzie, has suggested that the leader of the UK’s Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, is desperate to become Prime Minister.
Awuzie alleged that the Conservative Party leader was suffering from an identity crisis, saying what was first seen as a political strategy is now looking like a mental health issue.
The statement comes after in ways they would not dare attempt in their home countries.
According to the UK’s opposition leader, she cannot confer her Nigerian citizenship on her children because she is a woman.
However, in a post on his Facebook page on Monday, Awuzie said Badenoch can never become the UK prime minister unless she embraces her roots, makes peace with her identity and markets herself as a Nigerian British woman.
Awuzie wrote: “Kemi: a case of identity crisis... She’s desperate to become UK’s Prime Minister. Her only concern is her Nigerian roots.
“She thinks that by speaking against Nigeria, she’ll convince British voters that she’s British enough.
“She should have learnt from Rishi Sunak - the former UK prime minister of Indian descent.
“Rishi did not attack India just to convince voters that he’s more British than Indian. In fact, people voted for him because he embraced his identity with confidence and pride.
“Kemi is suffering from Identity Crisis and unfortunately, what was first seen as a political strategy is now looking like a mental health issue.
“Kemi WILL NEVER become the UK’s prime minister unless she embraces her roots, makes peace with her identity and markets herself as a Nigerian British woman who has tasted both worlds and thus understands why the UK, under her watch should never be allowed to slide into the current state of her birth country.
“She should promise that in her tenure, countries like her birth country will partner with the UK to accelerate development and improve access to markets. She should state that immigration problems will be solved the moment people no longer need to move from other countries to the UK to seek a better future. Unknown to her, post colonial UK is a humanitarian country seeking to right her wrongs through economic development programs in the countries they once colonised.
“Kemi can position herself as the new face of a reformed United Kingdom and her former colonies.”
