ITV viewers are in for one of the most dramatic series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? yet.

The iconic quiz show returns to screens this April and will see not one but TWO contestants win the top prize for the first time in six years.

History and politics teacher Donald Fear was the last gameplayer to take home £1million in 2020.

He was the first to win under new host and used only one lifeline to win, which hadn’t been done for 14 years previously.

The nail-biting new series will see contestants once again attempt to climb the famous Million Pound Money Ladder, using their lifelines – Ask the Audience, 50:50, Ask the Host and Phone a Friend – in a bid to secure life-changing winnings.

The tension doesn’t stop there in the new series, with one contestant dramatically losing £186,000 in a single moment- one of the biggest losses in the show’s history.

It makes series 36 one of the most suspenseful runs the show has delivered in years.

The new run begins with a gripping opening episode that sets the tone for a series packed with tension, high-stakes decisions and unforgettable moments.

The show format has been reproduced in countries all around the world since its first arrival on TV in 1998 with presenter Chris Tarrant.

Jeremy took over in 2018 but admits he still feels like an “imposter”.

He often ridicules himself about the new Ask the Host feature, which puts him on the spot to help contestant.

Jeremy previously said: “Imagine the embarrassment if somebody is up for £125,000 and they ask me and I get it wrong! I’d be dying of shame”.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? returns to later this April for its 36th series.
