WESSEL NIJMAN is ready to “show the world” he’s capable of winning big majors after securing his first Euro title.
The hot Dutch prospect smashed 8-3 to take the European Trophy in Gottingen on Sunday night.

Nijman, 25, delivered one of the most sensational Euro wins with a tournament average of 102 and a stunning 150 and 145 finishes in the final.
He battered Niels Zonneveld 7-1 in the semis having smashed 6-1 in the third round and then downed another Premier League star Josh Rock 6-2 in the quarters.
He also missed double 12 for a perfect leg in that clash.
It’s an incredible turnaround from Nijman after he was banned for match-fixing in 2020 and only returned to the sport in 2023.
He picked the £35,000 jackpot and vowed: “I didn’t need to prove it myself. I need to prove to other people that I can play like this on TV stages.
“I’m doing it now on a Euro Tour event, now I want to do it on a serious major event. Then I can show the world I’m capable of winning any event.
“There’s no words to describe how I’m feeling right now. I felt so great all day long.
“When I played Gian (van Veen) and Niels (Zonneveld), I played so well. I told myself this can be a day when you can win the title. I’m so happy I did.
“Since I stopped working, I’m feeling so confident when I’m on the oche, I’m practising more and more now. I’ve never put this amount of hours on the board.
“When I won the semi-final, I thought don’t think you can win the title. Just play your own game.

Price beat Dirk van Duijvenbode 6-3 in the quarters and Damon Heta 7-5 in the semis.
He added: “Every time I play against Wessel, he plays brilliant against me.
“I lost to him in a ProTour final as well, so fair play.
“It’s been a long day. I’ve been here since 11am, so I didn’t get to go back and chill out. I run out of gas at the end.
“I didn’t play my best in the final but he was fantastic, so take nothing from him. I will get my own back one day!”
