The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State has expressed its commitment to follow any directives provided by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in preparation for the 2027 elections.
The party’s chairman, Rejoice Otobo, made this announcement during Wike’s 'thank you' visit to the region on Sunday.
He emphasized that the community would support Wike due to his contributions to their welfare.
“We await your guidance regarding the 2027 elections in Rivers State. Wherever you direct us to go, that is where we will go; whatever you instruct us to do, we will do it,” Otobo stated.
He further remarked, “All the good and bad individuals in the LGA have agreed that we will follow your lead.”
In addition, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, Ikechukwu Obuzor, affirmed unwavering loyalty to Wike, noting that he had instilled hope among the people.
“I want to express that we are steadfastly with you. Wherever you lead, we will follow. Rest assured, come 2027, Ahoada West will deliver the necessary outcomes for you,” he stated.
Earlier, the chairman of Ahoada Local Government Council, Chita Eugene, referred to Wike as the political field marshal of the South-South region and commended him for bringing significant development to Rivers State.
He described the visit as more than just a thank-you, labeling it “a celebration of effective leadership and public service.”
The House of Representatives member for Ahoada West/Ogba-Egbema/Ndoni Federal Constituency, Victor Obuzor, also remarked that Wike deserves support due to his accomplishments in the area and his influence as a former governor.
Similarly, the Seyi Tinubu Support Group, led by Chidi Amadi, expressed their support for Wike and the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
In his remarks, Wike stated that he visited to express gratitude for the strong support shown to him and Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
He noted that Rivers State was once highly regarded nationwide for its commitment to good governance until poor leadership took hold.
Wike, who asserted that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not be granted a second term, claimed that the state's political prestige must be restored in 2027.
“This will be achieved by rectifying the leadership errors in the state in 2027,” he said.
“Currently, Rivers State is gaining respect due to our efforts in the FCT. We need a trustworthy leader to guide our beloved state toward glory and progress.”
