The State Working Committee, SWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State has said it is fully ready to participate in the forthcoming general elections in line with the revised timetable and schedule of activities releases by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
In a press statement issued by its spokesperson, Lancelot Obiaku, the party noted that in keeping with the directives of the National Caretaker Working Committee, it is committed and ready to prosecute the 2027 elections and emerge victorious.
The statement maintained that the party draws confidence from the fact that the NCWC is doing everything necessary to ensure that all internal party disputes and pending litigations are conclusively resolved ahead of the window provided for political parties to conduct their primaries.
It stressed that the party stands firm and fully prepared to meet all constitutional and regulatory requirements within the stipulated timelines.
“Also, preparations for the all-inclusive National Convention in Abuja, scheduled for March 28 and 29, 2026, have intensified, and the Imo contingent is excited and ready to be part of the exercise, which will go a long way towards ushering in the much-needed stability and prosperity of the PDP in the country.
“Imo PDP, therefore, urges intending aspirants to remain calm, focused, and to continue their preparations with vigour while awaiting further directives from the leadership of our great party.
“The Hon. Austin Nwachukwu-led SWC further reassures the people of the State of the party’s readiness not only to continue offering credible opposition but also to provide outstanding leadership and reliable alternatives at all levels for good governance, accountability, security, peace, and sustainable development in our dear state,” the statement said.
