The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yiltwatda, has assured that all individuals defecting to the party will be treated equally and will enjoy the same rights as existing members.
Yiltwatda made this announcement on Friday during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting of the party held at the Crest Hotel in Jos, Plateau State.
The meeting was attended by prominent party members and political leaders from across the state.
The APC chairman stated that several notable members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are anticipated to join the ruling party next week, adding that all arrangements for their defection have been finalized.
“I can confidently inform you that by next week, I will be welcoming some prominent figures from the ADC. It is not only members from the PDP joining our party; many from the ADC have expressed interest, and some have already completed their screening,” he remarked.
He mentioned that the incoming members will include both current and former governors, as well as members of the National Assembly.
Professor Yiltwatda further assured that every new member would be regarded as an equal partner in the party’s advancement.
“Those defecting to the APC will enjoy the same rights and privileges as those who have been with us from the start. We are committed to fairness and equal treatment for all members,” he stated.
He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his inclusive leadership style, describing him as a supporter of the minority who has given Plateau State recognition and a stronger voice in national politics.
“Mr. President has demonstrated that he is a friend of the minority, particularly here in Plateau. He has shown fairness and provided us with a sense of belonging. We have every reason to support him and ensure his re-election in 2027,” Yiltwatda concluded.
