WAYNE ROONEY brought back memories by scoring a spectacular overhead kick in front of a live television audience.

The football legend, 40, recently made an appearance on A League of Their Own.

During the show, he stepped onto a mini football pitch and received a pass from the presenter.

The former striker skillfully controlled the fast-moving ball before flicking it over his head.

Rooney then executed a stunning overhead kick into the empty net, leaving everyone present in awe.

Ranganathan rushed over to him, and the two embraced in celebration.

Wazza’s teammates and Alex Brooker also joyfully joined in.

This strike was reminiscent of one of Rooney’s most iconic goals—the breathtaking overhead kick in Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over their noisy neighbors, City, in February 2011.

After a cross from Wayne Rooney was deflected into his path in the 78th minute of that derby clash, Rooney delivered an incredible overhead kick to secure the win.

In May 2012, that goal was voted the greatest in Premier League history.

Rooney expressed at the time: “I grew up watching the Premier League, so being voted the best goal in its history is an incredible feeling.

“There are so many great goals on that shortlist—goals I admired in my living room as a kid: Thierry Henry’s goal, David Beckham’s, Tony Yeboah’s, and others.

“To be alongside them and to win is a tremendous honor for me, and I take great pride in it.

“I want to extend a big thank you to all the fans who voted for me.”

This season, Rooney has shifted his focus to punditry after being dismissed as the manager of Plymouth Argyle last December.

The former England captain has become a regular on Sky Sports, and he has also launched his own show, the Wayne Rooney Show.
