CHELSEA fans have been clamouring for Estevao to get more game time under Xabi Alonso.

And the Brazilian’s stats suggest that the Blues faithful .

, 44, left the 19-year-old on the bench as his side on penalties at Anfield last night.

Travelling fans chanted for Estevao from the Anfield Road End, but to no avail.

Estevao is yet to start a league match under Alonso and has not played more than 18 minutes in a Prem game this term.

Incredibly, the wonderkid has played exactly the same number of minutes for this season, 172, as he has in all competitions for Chelsea.

After last night’s match, Alonso claimed that injuries had forced his hand regarding his substitutions, although he did find time for forgotten man .

Asked about Estevao’s perceived lack of physicality, the Blues boss added: “Yes, we know that the Premier League and the game in England is really intense.

“You need to be up for it. Este has played, for sure, it’s his second season. But he had the injury and he’s in that process.

“Trust me, I’m sure the season is going to be long and Este is going to play his role.”

However, stats compiled by boffins and brainiacs at Opta suggest that Estevao DOES deserve more of a chance.

Since making his Chelsea debut in August 2025, the Samba starlet has started 22 matches in all competitions.

The Blues have won 11 of these contests, giving them a win percentage of 50 – while they have only triumphed 45.8 per cent of the games in which he has not been picked from the start.

Chelsea have scored 2.59 goals on average in these contests, a considerably better tally than the 1.63 plundered without him.

Even taking into account matches in which Estevao has only come off the bench it is a similar story.

Chelsea again have a 50 per cent win rate in the 44 matches that Estevao has featured in at all, compared to 42.3 per cent without him.

In these contests the Blues have scored an average of 2.07 goals, up from 1.69 when he doesn’t play.

Estevao has managed eight goals and three assists in 44 Chelsea appearances thus far.

And while 44 appearances may sound like a lot, many of these have come in brief sub cameos.

The Stamford Bridge favourite has played 1,847 minutes, which only equates to around 20 full 90s – making his combined goal and assist tally of 11 all the more impressive.

Part of Estevao’s problem is the fierce competition that he is surrounded by – with and extremely difficult to displace.

Rogers has already provided nine goal contributions in just 11 Blues appearances, while Palmer has 15 goals and six assists since Estevao’s debut, albeit in more minutes.

Even Pedro Neto’s numbers are respectable, the Portuguese having plundered 14 goals and 11 assists over the same timeframe.

Estevao loves to commit his marker, and has actually completed more dribbles than Palmer despite having played around 1,400 fewer minutes.

He also has more touches in the opposition box and successful crosses than Palmer – although Chelsea’s star man does beat him in shots taken and chances created.

Estevao scored in three consecutive Champions League matches for Chelsea last winter, culminating in a brilliant dramatic late winner against .

That should have been the launchpad, but 11 months, four managers and several injury setbacks later, Estevao’s Chelsea career .
