AFTER “nearly dying” from pneumonia, Wayne Lineker has provided a new health update from the hospital.

Sitting in a hospital bed while wearing a Santa hat, the star began: “Guys, I just received the news! I’m going home, but not until .
“I’m going to miss it by a day, oh well. Merry .”
In his caption, he wrote: “I have overcome pneumonia!! After undoubtedly the toughest six weeks of my life, I will be going home on Boxing Day.
“Unfortunately, I will spend Christmas Day in the hospital as I have two days remaining on my IV course of . But I am very happy.
“Thank you to all the incredible doctors and nurses at Basildon hospital.”
His thrilled fans flocked to the comments section to send their well-wishes, with one expressing: “Merry Christmas, darling! The road to recovery looks great on you.”

Earlier this month, Wayne informed fans that he was left unable to walk after contracting a serious illness.
This week, Wayne explained that even though he was following all the rehabilitation prescribed by doctors, he might still need to undergo major surgery.
“I know I look a bit rough. But I’ve been through a lot over the past couple of days,” he began.
“Parts of my lungs weren’t clearing of the phlegm and were quite stubborn. They’re giving me breathing exercises, which I’m doing daily, actually hourly, and I’m being more active around the room.”
Wayne was placed on strong antibiotics in hopes they would help clear the infection, but if that didn’t work, .
“It’s a keyhole surgery, and then they’ll go in and perform a washout to clean my lungs, and hopefully, that will resolve the issue,” he said.
“It will be touch and go whether I’ll be able to go home for Christmas. There’s your update. Thank you, guys.”
