‘Warm & soothing’ home decoration sold by Wayfair is urgently recalled over ‘high risk of electric shock’

A HOME decoration product sold by Wayfair which is described as being “warm and soothing”; has been urgently recalled due to a “high risk of electric shock”;.

The Tilson Tripod Floor Lamp has been removed from the company’s online marketplace after the on June 6.

According to the safety report on the Government’s website the lamp presents a “high risk of electric shock”; because the plug “does not meet the constructional or dimensional requirements of BS 1363.”;

Anyone who owns the lamp is advised to stop using it immediately and contact the distributor you purchased it from.

The safety alert added: “The user could also receive an electric shock when inserting or removing the plug from the socket.”;

The lamp is available in four colours and the warning covers all models.

In the online description, the lamp stands 166cm tall and claims to “illuminate your space with elegance and style”; and is made to “bring a touch of sophistication and warmth to any room”;.

The design is said to have an “industrial Scandinavian vibe”; and “effortlessly combines functionality with aesthetics”;.

The ad continues: “With its unique fir tree body, this lamp exudes a sense of beauty that will captivate your senses... The fabric cap adds a touch of elegance and softness to the overall design, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere.”;

It also claims “unparalleled quality and craftsmanship, crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this floor lamp is built to last.”;

Meanwhile, a popular baby toy sold on has been and parents have been advised to stop using it immediately.
