VIKTOR GYOKERES has reportedly agreed to give up over £1.7MILLION in wages in order to push through a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners had been weighing up a move for either Gyokeres or RB Leipzig’s , and it now appears they are pushing hard to bring Gyokeres to North London.

Reports suggest that Arsenal have already agreed personal terms over a five-year deal with Gyokeres, but they are now trying to negotiate a fee with Sporting.

Varandas has already made a public declaration refusing to drop his asking price for Sporting.

He told O Jogo: “The player knows, the agent knows, and I can guarantee, with absolute certainty, that Viktor will not leave for €60million plus €10million in add-ons.

“It’s not about trying to gain something, it’s that he simply will not leave for that – absolutely will not.”;

Citing the big money that is already being bounded around for other stars this summer, Varandas continued: “We have been watching the market and I saw [Martin] Zubimendi, who is six months younger than Viktor, leave for €65million.

“I saw and , both forwards but who, in my opinion, do not have Viktor’s market value or quality, being negotiated for around €75million.”;

Gyokeres is reportedly desperate to force through the move with Arsenal.

Sporting have given Gyokeres extra time away from pre-season training to complete a deal, telling him he does not have to report for training until Friday.
