No fewer than fourteen thousand candidates have applied to study various undergraduate courses at the University of Ibadan, DAILY POST reports.

The fourteen thousand candidates are seeking admission to be enrolled for various degree programmes in the 2025/2026 academic session.

These revelations were revealed during the commencement of Post-Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination in the institution.

Our correspondent however gathered that the university can only admit less than five thousand candidates.

DAILY POST reports that the university on Monday commenced the Post-UTME exercise.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration of the university, Professor Peter Olapegba, led other principal officers of the institution to monitor the exercise.

It was also learnt that medical officers from the university’s clinic were also on ground to provide the necessary support to the personnel and the candidates.

Our correspondent reports that the university admitted about four thousand two hundred and fifteen students in the last admission exercise.
