Chelsea and Manchester City, on Wednesday night, set an unwanted record after suffering defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, respectively, in the Champions League.

Recall that PSG defeated Chelsea 5-2 in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg tie in Paris.

Man City, meanwhile, also suffered a 3-0 loss to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in Spain.

However, according to OptaJoe, this is the first time that two English Premier League clubs have lost by 3 goals plus on the same day in European Cup/UEFA Champions League history.

Chelsea and Man City will now hope to turn things around when they host PSG and Man City, respectively, in the return leg next week in England.
