Arsenal and Chelsea have set records after their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second-leg fixtures on Tuesday.

Arsenal defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium to qualify for the Champions League quarter-final stage.

The Gunners had drawn 1-1 against the Bundesliga side in Germany last week

Chelsea lost 3-0 against PSG at Stamford Bridge. The Blues had lost 5-2 against the French Ligue 1 champions last week.

However, according to OptaJoe, Arsenal registered 12 shots on target against Leverkusen, their highest tally in a single match across all competitions this season.

It is also only the second time the Premier League leaders have scored twice from outside the box in a Champions League knockout tie, after doing so against Real Madrid in 2024/25.

As for Chelsea, the defeat against PSG means the Premier League west London club has conceded eight goals across a competitive two-legged tie (domestic and European) for the first time in their history.
