The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Tanimu Turaki has successfully regained control of the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza in Abuja, following a confrontation with expelled members.

According to DAILY POST, Turaki’s faction encountered opposition from the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday.

The two factions clashed while trying to hold significant meetings at the same venue, resulting in chaos in the area.

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, reported that he and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, were teargassed during the altercation.

Once order was restored, Tanimu Turaki, the newly elected National Chairman of the party, took office at the Secretariat.

He was accompanied by the two state governors, Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde.
