The English Premier League (EPL), UEFA Champions League (UCL) and former Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater have reacted as Eden Hazard announced his retirement from professional football.
Hazard had on Tuesday morning announced his retirement from football at the age of 32.
The Belgian insisted it was the right time for him to leave the game, adding that he wanted to focus on his loved ones and have new experiences off the pitch.
Reacting, UCL, in a tweet via its X account, wrote: “Thanks for the memories, Eden Hazard.”
Similarly, EPL tweeted, “Eden Hazard has announced his retirement from football. The Belgian’s seven-year spell at @ChelseaFC will live long in the memory. An illustrious playing career comes to an end. Wishing you the best in retirement, @hazardeden10.”
On his part, Drinkwater wrote on Instagram: “Was a short period we spent together bro… but it was a honour! True magician. All the best.”
