A MUM has responded to critics who have condemned her for residing in a council house while earning £15,000 a month.

Whitney Ainscough, 31, was reliant on benefits just a few years ago, but now makes the equivalent of her monthly benefits in a single month through social media.

The influencer, who brands herself as a “bad mum,” has amassed over 500,000 followers by sharing controversial content, using her earnings to indulge in luxuries.

Despite her impressive income, Whitney still lives in a council house, which harsh critics have recently labeled as a disgrace.

However, she does own a property and plans to purchase another, but these are intended for rental purposes rather than for her own residence.

In a recent video, the mother of three from South Yorkshire addressed a comment questioning why she remains in subsidized housing.

The comment stated: “It’s morally wrong to stay in that house when she has the means to rent or buy a larger one for her children.

“People are desperately in need of council houses; she’s a disgrace.”

Responding to the comment, Whitney explained that she is unable to rent privately for several reasons.

The first is that she is currently in an Individual Voluntary Agreement (IVA), which is a legally binding arrangement with creditors to repay her debts over time.

“To be honest, I tried to rent privately a while back, but I was declined,” she said. “My credit history is poor. Nobody will consider me.”

The mother further disclosed that the second reason she struggles to rent privately is due to landlords being unwilling to accept her because of her social media career.

“No, that’s not going to happen,” she stated.

Even though Whitney now earns significant amounts of money, she noted that the council won’t simply evict her from her home.

“I’ve paid full rent every single month for the past five years,” she said.

The influencer does have intentions to move out, as she is currently saving for a deposit on her dream home.

Once her IVA is settled in January, she hopes to save 40% of the funds required for a stylish new place.

“Of course, I would love to not live in this house; it’s driving me crazy, but it is what it is,” she expressed.

Whitney’s video has sparked a debate on social media, where she is known as @itsmebadmom .

In the comments section, one user remarked: “You can justify it however you want, but it is morally wrong.”

Another individual asked: “How come they can’t accept you for private rent but can approve you for a mortgage?”

A third commenter added: “If she can buy two houses, she can certainly purchase a larger house for her family – it’s a matter of priority.”

Why does Whitney still live in a council house despite her income?

Whitney explained that she is in an Individual Voluntary Agreement (IVA), which limits her ability to rent privately. Additionally, she has faced challenges due to her poor credit history and her occupation in social media, which some landlords do not accept.

What are Whitney's plans for the future?

Whitney plans to move out once her IVA is settled in January. She is currently saving for a deposit on her dream house and hopes to purchase a stylish new place soon.
