Abbie Newton, a from the , moved into her just four months ago, but has already got to work on adding style to her .

Her most recent involved using from to ensure her home felt warm and cosy ahead of the months – and we think it looks fabulous.

Posting on , Abbie shared her with a clip captioned: “The perfect way to bring in to a room. I think the whole thing cost about £40 as we already have the paint but we saved a fortune having the wood cut rather than buying the kits.”

Abbie then gave her followers a close-up look at her , which she described as “totally white and completely plain.”

As a result, she said: “I really wanted to add some onto this back wall in our living room, just to bring a bit of warmth and character into the room.”

Abbie and her partner headed to B&Q to stock up on supplies and rather than buying a panelling kit, the were able to save cash by getting the MDF sheet cut to size using the chain’s timber cutting service.

She continued: “We picked up a rail that we wanted for the top and then we ended up getting a sheet of MDF, which saved so much because it was only £21 for the whole sheet.”

Following this, Abbie explained: “To be honest, once we’d worked out all of the measurements, it was actually really easy.”

Abbie added Polyfilla onto all of the joins, while her partner put up the rail and caulked all of the sides of every single joint.

The then used paint in the shade Cancun from B&Q’s Good Home range to brighten up the .

The young woman found the process “really satisfying” and “great fun.”

Showing off the finished panelled wall, she beamed: “Overall, it really wasn’t that hard and I definitely want to do it in some other rooms.”
