Manchester City have confirmed Enzo Fernandes’ shirt number following his move from Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

The two Premier League rivals agreed a £125m fee for the 25-year-old after weeks of tense negotiations.

Fernandez has now signed a five-year deal with City and will wear the no. 17 shirt at the Etihad.

The shirt was notably worn by Kevin De Bruyne in the past. Prior to that it had been worn by the likes of Sun Jihai and Martin Petrov.

The Argentina midfielder has followed in the footsteps of Elliot Anderson, Gerónimo Rulli and Ayyoub Bouaddi in linking up with Enzo Maresca’s squad and was joined by Iliman Ndiaye on deadline day.
