THE TRAITORS star Ross has unveiled the “real story” behind his connection with co-star Netty, following speculation from their fellow contestants.

In the premiere episode of the current season, the duo confessed to knowing each other outside of the show after being introduced by a mutual friend.

However, after she was eliminated, Ross informed his fellow contestants that he intended to act as if he did not know her, raising suspicions among the group.

Now, the One star has chosen to clarify the situation on social media.

In his post, he stated: “Let’s clear this up and put it to rest.

“Essentially, Netty and I know each other through a mutual friend named Dan. Dan is a photographer, and I’ll share his Instagram so you can check it out.

“He used to attend a basketball tournament in Bradford, which is how they met, and I’ve seen Netty a few times while out in London.

“On a different occasion, about a year later, I was out with another friend, who I won't name for privacy reasons.

“He mentioned, ‘I’ve seen that girl, I kind of like her,’ and I asked, ‘Wait, which one?’ He pointed at Netty.

“I said, ‘Oh actually, I know her. Would you like me to introduce you?’

Ross then approached Netty, informing her that his friend was interested in her and asking if she would consider giving him a chance, although it ultimately didn’t work out.

He concluded: “And that’s the whole story. Nothing more to it, voila!”

Regarding their unexpected reunion, Executive Producer Mike Cotton remarked: “The pairing of Ross and Netty was completely unintentional. We cast them as individuals.

“We conduct thorough background checks on all participants. During this process, we discovered that they follow each other on social media.

“While we were aware of a loose connection, we had no idea if they would recognize each other or how they would respond.

“We didn’t want to exclude them just because they knew each other – I thought it would be intriguing to see how it impacted the game.”

It appears that Netty isn’t the only contestant Ross knows in real life, as he has also been photographed with another co-star.

In the image, Ellie and Ross are seen together in a group photo.

This picture, shared on social media, seems to have been taken in June 2024.

This would be approximately a year before the current season of The Traitors was filmed.

The photo was captured in London during a team outing for Damo’s Personal Trainers.

Muscle model and personal trainer Ross is affiliated with the gym, according to its Instagram account.

In the image, Ross has his arm around Ellie’s waist as they enjoyed a meal at Eco Restaurants with other members of Damo’s PT team.

So far, neither of them has hinted at knowing each other prior to filming on-screen.

The Traitors airs on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays on BBC One.
