A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and social media commentator, Joe Igbokwe, has criticized the ongoing verbal conflict between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the National Secretary of the ruling party, Ajibola Basiru.

According to DAILY POST, the recent tensions between Wike and the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, prompted the APC Secretary to voice his support for the governor.

During an event in Rivers State on Monday, Wike urged the APC National Secretary to refrain from involving himself in Rivers politics.

In response, Basiru issued a statement calling for Wike to resign from his position and concentrate on what he termed an “obsession” with the political affairs of Rivers State.

Weighing in on the situation, Igbokwe expressed his views in a Facebook post, stating that this confrontation is unwarranted and unnecessary.

He remarked, “The disputes between Hon. Minister FCT, Nyesom Wike, and the National Secretary APC Nigeria, Ajibola Basiru, are entirely uncalled for and pointless. It serves as a needless distraction.

“If in a moment of anger you take off your cap and discard it, a wise person will pick it up and use it indefinitely. It is time for this misunderstanding to come to an end.”
