Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State says President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027 is non-negotiable.
Okpebholo, who stated this at the Government House in Benin during a visit by the South-South Monarchs’ Forum, rallied traditional rulers from the region to back President Tinubu’s re-election.

The governor emphasized the crucial role of traditional institutions in national development and called on the monarchs to support the President’s efforts, particularly in tackling insecurity across the country.

“The development of our nation cannot be achieved without the active support of our royal fathers,”;; he said.

He commended the President’s economic policies, stating that they were geared towards revitalizing the economy and improving the quality of life for Nigerians.

“The South-South zone should speak with one voice, because we have our son as the President, and we all must speak with one voice to return him in 2027 to complete his tenure.

“President Tinubu has done so much for this country, and there are bold steps and decisions he has taken to put the nation on the path of development and growth.

“The President is focused on blocking leakages in the economy and ensuring that resources are used for the betterment of Nigerians. He has been able to increase allocations for states, and now states have money to concentrate on developmental projects.

“The people of the South-South zone must support President Tinubu because he is our own, and he needs to continue what he has started. The President is putting in place economic policies that will benefit the people. A second term for the President is non-negotiable,”;; he added.
