Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore revealed on Sunday that President Bola Tinubu is not in good health and is managing his condition.

Sowore also asserted that Senate President Godswill Akpabio is “practically dying.”

He made these statements while explaining the reason behind Tinubu’s sudden trip abroad.

Tinubu, who had been in Lagos State for the Christmas and New Year holiday, departed Nigeria for Europe today.

A statement from Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, indicated that the president is also set to make an official visit to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Onanuga further noted that the president will attend the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit at the invitation of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In a post on X, Sowore stated: “Nigeria’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unwell and just managing himself, which is the reason he has suddenly flown to ‘Europe’ today. @Senator_Akpabio is practically dying; why is Nigeria governed by leaders who are unwell?

“While there is nothing wrong with being ill, it is heartless to use a nation as health insurance for sick leaders.”
