The Senate Leader, Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele, has announced that the much-awaited ministerial list will be received by the Senate within the next 48 hours.
He made this disclosure during his 60th birthday anniversary lecture and book presentation in Abuja.
Bamidele revealed that President Bola Tinubu personally informed him of this development during a phone call to wish him well on his birthday.
He said President Tinubu told him that he would not be able to attend the birthday lecture due to pressing communication that he needed to submit to the Senate within the next 48 hours.
This communication is expected to contain the ministerial list, which will outline the individuals nominated for ministerial positions in the government.
In a lecture, the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Toyin Ogundipe, called for the need for political office holders to reduce the number of vehicles in their convoys as a show of empathy to the Nigerian people during these challenging times.
He stressed that agencies such as the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) should not be part of the entourage of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as long as the police presence is adequate.
Ogundipe said: “There is need for our leaders to reduce the number of vehicles in their convoy so that Nigerians will know that you feel their pains.
“There is nothing VIO, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) are doing in the entourage of the President and Vice President once you have police in the convoy.”
