The 39-year-old was seen tailing the woman moments before launching the attack near Wherstead Road and Croft Street in a quiet, residential area of Ipswich, .

Hyam grabbed the victim’s rucksack, containing her keys, purse and other personal items, before fleeing the scene.

Police were called following the attack just after 2.15pm on September 13.

The victim, who was not seriously hurt, knew Hyam and quickly gave officers his description.

In the moments following the assault, CCTV footage tracked Hyam running towards the town centre.

He refused to stop when officers moved in, but was eventually arrested after being chased down by a police and his handler.

Dramatic bodycam footage captures the handler shouting a warning: “This is your last chance”.

Hyam eventually stops running when he is caught by Thor, the police dog.

The handler can be heard on the video telling Hyam to “stand still or this dog is going to bite you.”

Hyam, of Ramsgate Drive, , appeared at Ipswich Crown on January 22 where he was jailed for 15 weeks.

He denied a charge of robbery but admitted assault by beating.
