During Wednesday’s episode of the show, he recounted: “My wife was driving our daughter through a narrow rural lane in Kent.
“As she paused to let another driver pass, a man pulled up next to her, demanded she lower her window, and unleashed a stream of profanities, followed by spitting in her face.
“He approached her as she moved over to let him through. There had been no prior incident.
“There was absolutely no reason for it. Our daughter was distraught, truly terrified. She’s only eight, on the floor.”
Reflecting on their daughter’s reaction to the incident, Tom expressed his desire for the driver to “experience the fear he instilled in her.”
He called on anyone with information to step forward, stating: “I mentioned this on my LBC show, and a woman reached out, claiming she was in the car behind him.
“She was extremely helpful to the police, and I must say the Kent police have been very supportive.”
Tom also suggested that he believes the attack would not have occurred if he had been in the car with his wife.
He remarked: “I doubt this would have happened if I had been driving or if Ben [Shephard] had been at the wheel.
“This incident occurred solely because she was alone.
“It is completely unacceptable for someone to act this way towards a woman simply because she is a woman.”
Tom was speaking with his co-host and guest during the segment.
Reacting to the news, Kay exclaimed: “What is wrong with you, you absolute animal?”
