“Um, not great on the chest,” remarked one Instagram user.
“And you wonder why men look at your chest… That’s exactly why,” commented another user on a photo of Ashley in a strapless silver dress.
More similar comments followed on the series of images showcasing Ashley in the stunning silver outfit.
“Love the red hair, Ashley. However, I don’t think the dress flatters you. Too much cleavage. Less is more,” said one user.
Others noted that the dress appeared ill-fitting around her chest and looked “uncomfortable” rather than flattering.
In response to the negativity, Ashley stood up for her natural body by sharing screenshots of the hateful comments.
She added the phrase: “God forbid a woman has breasts and wears a dress” on the main image.
“Is all that chest really necessary? Stay classy,” read one of the screenshots of negative comments.
Other users directly criticized the shape of her breasts, expressing their discontent with her figure.
In a lengthy caption accompanying her response, Ashley addressed the issue of body shaming.
“On Monday night, I attended the Pride of Britain Awards, and honestly, I felt fantastic in my dress,” she began.
“But as soon as I posted the pictures, the body-shaming comments began pouring in, and sadly, most of them came from other women.”
“I shouldn’t be surprised. This is the same narrative I’ve been hearing since I was fourteen: that my body is shameful, that I should cover up, and that if men look, it’s somehow my fault.”
“I didn’t even escape this when I was breastfeeding my children.”
Ashley highlighted the double standards that exist, noting that men do not face similar scrutiny, and as a woman with a larger chest, she is simply trying to exist.
“Men can walk down the street topless in the heat, go for a run without a shirt, or even participate in charity calendars naked, and no one questions their morals or ‘modesty.’”
“Yet women can’t even breastfeed in public without it being debated. We are shamed for showing skin and shamed for not showing it.”
“Modesty and purity have always been tools used to control and silence women, making us feel small, obedient, and apologetic for simply existing in our bodies.”
“Well, I refuse to cover up to make anyone else comfortable.”
“I’m not flaunting my body; it’s just my body. Existing in it isn’t an invitation, a performance, or a statement. It’s simply me.”
“And to the women leaving those comments: please stop doing the patriarchy’s work for it. Policing other women’s bodies doesn’t make you virtuous; it keeps us all trapped in the same double standards.”
“If you have an issue with my body, that issue is yours, not mine.”
“And I will not allow my daughter to grow up being told her body is something to hide or feel ashamed of.”
Fans of the star flooded the comments section of Ashley’s response with supportive messages, standing by her in the face of negativity.
“Where else are you supposed to put them?,” joked one user. “Kudos for calling people out. You look incredible.”
Others agreed, stating she “looked stunning” and praised her for combating “internalized misogyny.”
Ashley has natural 30GG breasts, which she claims have been a source of distress since her teenage years.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, she recounted how she once received a detention at school for hugging her own brother because staff deemed it inappropriate.
“I got detention for hugging my brother because they [school staff] said, ‘Well, will people in town know it’s your brother? What will they think?’” Ashley recalled.
