CREAM cleansers are your friend for removing make-up in winter, especially if you have dry, sensitive or mature skin.
They clean without stripping and help hydrate. Here are three I tried.
We try three cream cleansers to help you remove make-up in winter
Budget
Oat Milk Cream Cleanser by Q+A, 125ml £7.50 – hollandandbarrett.com
The Q+A Oat Milk Cream Cleanser is luxurious, has a lovely oaty smell and wipes away make-up easily.Credit: Q+A
This, without doubt, is my favourite. Described as a gentle, moisturising cleanser, it is formulated with a triple blend of oat-derived ingredients designed to help gently lift and impurities, leaving a refreshed and calm complexion.
You can use it on wet or dry skin then wipe off.
It feels luxurious, has a lovely oaty smell and wipes away make-up easily.
My neck had a dry, stubborn, eczema-type patch that I just couldn’t get rid of.
However, after two days of using this it has gone. Amazing.
Mid-range
Dr Somji Gentle Barrier Repair Nourishing Cream Cleanser, 125ml, from £40, drsomjiskincare.com
Dr Somji Gentle Barrier Repair Nourishing Cream Cleanser is suitable for all skin typesCredit: Supplied
A creamy, comforting facial cleanser that gently and thoroughly removes daily grime, make-up and impurities while helping to protect the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
Suitable for all skin types and fragrance-free. This contains inca inchi extract, a nourishing and soothing oil, with skin regenerative properties and extremely rich in omega 3, 6 and 9, plus prickly pear extract which has hydrating properties and calms irritated skin.
You add water to this one and it turns into a light foam. So if you don’t mind that, or the fact there is no smell, this is great. Removed make-up effortlessly.
Luxury
iS Clinical Cream Cleanser, 120ml, £48, facethefuture.co.uk.
iS Clinical Cream Cleanser contains a moisturiser that restructures the skin barrierCredit: Supplied
No pretty scent for this one either but feels rich and luxurious as you massage it on the skin. The thickest of the three and needed some thorough removal.
It contains safflower seed oil – a moisturiser that restructures the skin barrier – plus squalane which is a lipid that is very similar to natural moisturisers. There are antioxidants too.
Wipe with a cotton pad or rinse with water. I love the fact you can choose if you do – or don’t – want water on your face.
Pick of the week
Revive Collagen Sleep & Inner Calm Functional Mushroom and Adaptogen Blend is our pick of the weekCredit: Supplied
I’VE always been an extreme night owl and have tried pretty much every remedy to change that.
Now I’m trying Revive Collagen & Inner Calm Functional Mushroom and Adaptogen Blend (£44.99, Boots).
I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks but already noticed a difference in how quickly I fall asleep thanks to the magnesium and chamomile, while the 6,000mg of collagen and added vitamin C should help my skin, and too.
