- Farewell to the Show
STRICTLY hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have issued heartfelt statements after announcing their departure from the show.
The television duo surprised fans this morning with the news that they are both stepping down from their roles on the program.

Tess has been a key presence on the show since 2004, alongside the late Bruce Forsyth, while Claudia joined the program in 2010.
They have formed a beloved television partnership on the BBC competition, with Claudia's ‘claud-auditorium’ segment being a fan favorite.
Claudia expressed her feelings in an emotional statement, stating it has been a “privilege to be a small part of it.”
She shared a series of photos from her time on the show, including behind-the-scenes moments with Tess, Bruce, and judge Craig Revel Horwood.
She wrote: “It’s quite challenging to articulate what Strictly has meant to me. It has been the most significant relationship of my career. From working on It Takes Two in 2004 until now, it has encompassed my everything, and I will always be grateful for the show.
“I will never forget Len Goodman attempting to teach me what a cucaracha is (I still don’t understand it) and the incredible thrill and honor it was to collaborate with Tess on the results show and cohost on Saturday nights.
“Strictly is a magical, glittery, fake-tanned journey, and it has been a privilege to be a small part of it. The extraordinary talent of the dancers, the band, the hair and makeup teams, the costume teams, and the remarkable production crew and creatives – all utterly amazing.”
She added: “I’ve always believed it’s best to leave a party before you’re fully ready to go, and I am confident that the new hosts will be phenomenal. I look forward to seeing them elevate Strictly to new heights.”
“As for Tess – I feel incredibly fortunate to have stood next to you. You’re humorous, kind, exceptionally intelligent, and a true friend, and I love you.”
Tess also shared her own statement on Instagram, captioning it: “To my Strictly friends and family.”
The beloved TV host, who is married to presenter Vernon Kay, expressed her gratitude towards the Strictly team, praising them as the “best in the business.”
Tess wrote: “After 21 unforgettable years, the time has come to bid farewell to Strictly Come Dancing.
“It’s difficult to express what this show has meant to me, but here it goes…
“Strictly has been more than just a television program. It has felt like having a third child, a second family, and a significant part of my life since that very first show back in 2004. I realized then that it was something special, but I could never have anticipated the magic it would bring.
“Strictly has always been about joy, celebration, and uniting people — and I’m so proud to have played a small role in something that continues to resonate with so many.
“From the very first series, I had the immense honor of standing alongside the incomparable Sir Bruce Forsyth.”
She continued: “Brucie set the tone for everything that Strictly became: warmth, wit, connection, and pure showbiz magic.
“I have always admired our exceptionally talented professional dancers, our magnificent judges, and all the celebrities who have participated.
“I absolutely adore our brilliant crew — every single member of the Strictly team who has worked so diligently to make this show what it is.
“You are the very best in the business – the kindest, most enjoyable, most loyal, and undoubtedly the hardest-working team in television.
“Thank you for the laughter, friendship, and countless memories over all these years. You’ve filled my heart in ways I will never forget. I will miss you all dearly.
“And to you — the viewers at home — the biggest thank you of all. Thank you for welcoming us into your homes for over two decades.”
The host added: “Your love, loyalty, and unwavering support have meant the world to me. You’ve carried us through every series, and that has never, ever been taken for granted. You are the heart of this show, and I feel incredibly lucky to have shared it with you.
“Being part of your weekends from September to Christmas for the past 21 years has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my career.
“To my beloved Claud — what an absolute joy and pleasure it has been to share this adventure with you.
“You’re one of a kind, and I will treasure every laugh, every live show, and every backstage moment we’ve shared. I’m immensely grateful to have you as my friend for life.
“This isn’t a farewell to glitter, sequins, or Saturday night sparkle (I could never say goodbye to those!).
