One insider said: “It is going to be the wedding to end all . It’s just on a scale never seen before and it’s being planned with military timing.

“Guests will be ushered into the venue through an underground car park so they can get in and out without being seen, and there is strict security.

“The entirety of MSG is being transformed for the wedding and the plan is to have loads of their celebrity friends get up to perform and make speeches.

“Taylor loves music so much and wanted that to be central to their big day. It’s going to be the most extraordinary concert of all time.”

A permit has been filed to close the streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2 until midday on July 4, with planners requesting space for tents, canopies and trucks outside.

Thousands of are set to flock to the area in the hope of catching a glimpse of the star and her guests, which is expected to cause chaos.

New York Police Department officers said they have been briefed to expect an influx of thousands of Swifties to the area, as well as paparazzi, on Friday.

dropped a hint about the wedding earlier this month when talking about how busy the city will be.

Speaking at a news conference about a World Cup game in nearby New Jersey, he said: “We know it coincides with the Knicks’ finals run, we know it coincides with July 4th, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time.”

Taylor was among the ecstatic Garden crowd earlier this month when the produced the biggest comeback in Finals history, beating by a point in the last 1.2 seconds of the game.

She was seen cheering courtside with pals the Haim sisters.

Several members of Travis’ Chiefs team have been booked into the Marriott Marquis in Times Square for the weekend, 13 blocks from the venue.

Many, however, have questioned the untraditional choice of wedding venue, suggesting it might be a decoy.

But one insider said: “The world’s eyes will be on this wedding, so what better place to have it than somewhere which operates under the strictest security guidelines every day?

“Some people might see it as a bit gaudy to have it at an arena, but it makes sense for them.

“There will be an iron ring around the arena in a way which would be impossible at a church or elsewhere. There are no windows, which means no risk of paparazzi photos leaking out or people sneaking in.”

One New York resident, Nicki Vleisides, who co-hosts a podcast about Taylor’s music, said: “MSG is where music and sports come together at the most famous venue in the world.

“The more I’ve thought about it, it kind of seems like the perfect choice for both Taylor and Travis and their respective industries.”

Their big day is being directed by Los Angeles-based celebrity wedding planner Mark Seed, who is said to have been working on it “for months”.

He previously oversaw the nuptials of two of Taylor’s close pals — actress , who married Cooke Maroney in 2019, and her co-songwriter and producer Jack Antonoff, who got hitched to Margaret Qualley in 2023.

During an appearance on The Show last October, when Taylor playfully invited the chat show host to her wedding, she confirmed they were planning a high-profile event.

She explained: “I’m so excited about it . . . I know it’s going to be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount . . . and people are on the bubble.

“And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that.”

She joked that “everyone I’ve ever talked to” would be invited. The Pennsylvania-born singer spent several years living in London while dating actor , and her love for the UK is expected to be reflected in her wedding dress.

Sources have told The Sun she had several meetings about having a gown made by , and was spotted in the capital last month, with many suggesting she flew over for a fitting.

She previously wore a custom, bridal-esque Westwood dress with lyrics scrawled on it during her Eras Tour.

And she opted for a red minidress by the designer at the Grammys in 2025, when she also wore a rose gold chain around her thigh bearing the initial, “T”.

Taylor went on her first date with Travis, 36, in 2023 after he told a story on his podcast about how he had attended one of her Eras Tour shows with a handmade friendship bracelet for her.

‘So passionate’

However, security stopped him from getting backstage to hand it over.
They pair ended up hitting it off and last August announced they had got engaged.

Alongside a photo of them together in a garden full of flowers, with Travis down on one knee, Taylor wrote: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married” — thought to be a nod to her love of words and his sports career.

The post has since been liked by 37million people. It was initially thought that the couple would exchange vows at her beachfront estate in Rhode Island, where she has historically hosted annual July 4 parties.

That ended up being the location for her bachelorette bash.

Meanwhile, Travis’ bachelor party included a night at an LA dive bar, a Chris Lake concert, a race in and a show.

Taylor has just spent two weeks at No1 with her 5 track I Knew It, I Knew You, marking her seventh chart-topping single in the UK.

And although she is getting married, it is clear she has no intention of slowing down when it comes to her music.

She said last year: “I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do.

“And he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.

“That’s the coolest thing about Travis. He is so passionate about what he does that me being passionate about what I do . . . it connects us.”

Now, with only six days to go, it is almost time for Taylor to take centre stage at her biggest show so far.

ALI, ELVIS, MARILYN AND OL’ BLUE EYES

TAYLOR and Travis will not be the first to make precious memories at Madison Square Garden.

It is where Marilyn Monroe sang Happy Birthday to John F. Kennedy, it hosted John Lennon’s final concert appearance and Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Jimi Hendrix all played there.

One of the busiest arenas in the world with 320 events a year, it adds another milestone with Taylor and Travis’ wedding.

It opened in 1968 in midtown Manhattan, but is the fourth venue to bear the name.

The first was an open-air site in a different location, created by circus master P. T. Barnum and given the name in 1879.

Billy Joel, who has performed there 150 times since 1978, has referred to it as “the iconic, holy temple of rock and roll for most touring acts”, while Elton John, who has played there over 70 times, once called it his “favourite venue in the entire world”. Taylor has performed there eight times, while Kiss and The Police played their final concerts at MSG.

From August to October, it will stage Harry Styles’ 30-show residency –  the only US stop on his Together, Together tour.

The venue, which had a $1billion renovation from 2011 to 2013, is also a sports mecca and hosted the 1971 Fight of the Century in which Joe Frazier beat Muhammad Ali.

It is home to basketball team the New York Knicks and the New York Rangers ice hockey team.

The Garden also hosts mixed martial arts, circuses and professional wrestling.

But this will not be its first celeb wedding, as Sly Stone married Kathy Silva in front of 23,000 fans there during a concert in 1974.
