The National Publicity Secretary of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Araba Aiyenigba, says any member that takes the party to court loses his or her membership.
Aiyenigba made the declaration on Tuesday on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ monitored by DAILY POST.
The spokesman expressed satisfaction that political parties now are allowed to sort out their internal differences without interference.
“It is a good development for democracy that political parties are allowed to run their internal operations without interference.
“Now, even when you take a case to court, the court will tell you it is an internal affair and send you back. In the SDP, the moment you take the party to court, you lose your membership,” he said.
According to him, in the SDP, every aggrieved member is expected stay within the party and explore the internal crisis resolution mechanism.
