TO locals and tourists walking past La Mirage, the picturesque hotel seems like any other holiday destination.
Yet look closer and you’ll find it’s a 32-bed adult playground where randy Brits strip off to enjoy a packed with sun, sea and sex – and for those wanting extra spice, there is a very unusual experience on offer.

As half-term kicks off, “swinger season” – traditionally in October and the months – opens for business, and ‘s adult-only hotels are cashing in.
While the temperature may be dropping in the UK, things are definitely heating up in .
With a variety of raunchy playrooms to pick from and its infamous nudist beach, the island’s sex market is booming as holidaymakers search out a frisky getaway in the sun.
Some 3.5million Brits visit Gran Canaria every year – with most of them being families and OAPs going to soak up the sun.
And while most tourists are preparing for a night in a restaurant after a day on the beach, the island’s army of secret swingers are mobilising for a very naughty all-nighter.
With a full offering of raunchy hotels, clubs and bars – it is enough to make you drop your Tapas.
Staff at some of the island’s sex hotels told The Sun how business of sex is thriving on the island – even despite anti-tourist sentiments growing in some corners of Spain’s resort towns.
Brits have dubbed the Catholic island “filth with a healthy dose of family fun” – with 40-person orgies commonplace in a shopping centre called Cita Mall, where you can grab groceries by day and swing by night.
Shops are turned into sex clubs in the evening – where people go to romp and swing – and stores have racks of kinky outfits for sale by day.
Matt Mitchell, 39, a machine operator from , told The Sun: “The shopping centre is the Mecca for swinging. People from all over the world come here to meet other swingers.”
Meanwhile, at the La Mirage resort, staff say each week is different.
But one thing stays the same – their Brit guests who are “very open” with two favoured nations, the Scandinavians and the Dutch.
And rather than catering to a younger market, it’s wildly popular with the over-50s.
A staff member said: “I would say the British are actually very open – and they like to play with Scandinavians and the Dutch, while Germans can be more reserved at first.
“We have no rules about clothes.
“You can be naked all the time or wear a swimsuit – we don’t want to oblige anyone to do anything, but of course, most of the people here practice nudism.”

Available to guests is a popular playroom with a sex swing, along with a “special” curved sofa that allows people to experiment with sex positions.
One staff member added: “There is also a mirror on the ceiling above the sofa – you can guess what that is for.”
But, on occasion, staff are forced to intervene when couples get too frisky.
She said: “We have had a few occasions where couples have been too strong or keen, and we had to give them a warning and threaten to ask them to leave.
“They may be watching other couples or sitting by them while they are playing, when the other couple doesn’t want them to.
“Yes, this is a place for swingers and sex but also for people to relax and enjoy their holiday, and people need to be respectful.”

And they have a strict policy on single men – they are not allowed to set foot in the resort.
She said: “We had a few incidents in the past, with men just coming here thinking they would have sex 24/7.
“They basically walk around trying to find women to have sex with – and that’s not what the place is about.”
The owners are Spanish and turned the resort from a normal hotel into a swingers’ venue – although they are not swingers themselves.
“I think this is how it should be, to keep it professional,” the hotel owner said.
‘Toys & whips’
La Mirage is not the only swingers paradise open for business.
Nearby, the Venus hotel – a luxurious nudist swinging resort nestled within stunning subtropical gardens right in the heart of Maspalomas – and Paradise resort are both frequented by frisky Brits.
A staff member told The Sun: “Paradise is more chilled. We have 12 rooms, and we operate from September, because September to October is basically the swinger season.
“We have a pool, jacuzzi and a playroom at both hotels. They are only a five-minute drive from one another.
“The playrooms have lots of toys and whips available, and you can bring your own toys if you like.
“We have a nightclub in Playa Ingles called Moonlight, where couples can find other couples, then come back to the hotel together for fun.
“In Paradise, on Tuesdays, we allow single people to come, but only until 8pm.
“Our clients are English, German, French, Polish, Italian; we have couples from all over the world, it’s really fun.”

They added: “Paradise is usually an older crowd, in their 40s and 50s, and in Venus, which is much larger, you have couples from the age of 25 and up.
“There is really only one rule in our hotels – no sex in the jacuzzi or the pool.”
Venus guest Dee Grant, 43, a mum-of-four from Manchester, said: “Gran Canaria is the place to be if you’re going on a swinging getaway.
“The swinging scene here is so open. It’s not taboo like it is in the UK. There are big venues that are very publicised – you can go to five or six places.”
Fast earning the reputation of the capital of the world, Gran Canaria hosts Maspalomas Fetish , an annual celebration of all things kink on the island.
Swingathon-on-Tour
But it’s not the only X-rated event in town, with the , jetting in every October.
A week on the Swingathon-on-Tour in Gran Canaria will set you back around £1,000 for accommodation and flights.
Most swinging clubs on the island offer free entry for women, while couples pay €20 and single men shell out €50 to keep it from turning into a “sausage-fest”.
Back in the UK, over 1,000 revellers come together from across the country to, with kinky guests shelling out up to £265 for a couple’s ticket.
Over four days, they can escape their mundane lives and explore their raunchiest fantasies.
But for Brits wanting guaranteed sunshine and sex further afield, Gran Canaria is the place to be.
