In total, eight channels will completely vanish from Sky and Virgin boxes by the end of the month, while others will only be temporarily unavailable.
First, one channel will exit screens once again on December 27, making way for the return of Clubland TV until next year.
Then, just days later, significant shutdowns will begin.
Another channel will conclude its broadcasts for the last time on December 29, allowing for the return of MTV 90s.
However, this change will only last a couple of days as the channels are set to close in 2026.
This impacts four channels: MTV Music, Club MTV, MTV 90s, and MTV 80s.

The Box, Kiss, 4Music, Magic, and Kerrang will still be broadcasting.

Although many MTV and Pop channels are going offline, there are ways to access them outside of Sky and Virgin Media.
The current MTV music channel brands are still available, and there are some alternatives you can find for free elsewhere.
The streaming app Pluto TV offers three MTV music channels: MTV Classic, MTV Rocks, and MTV Best Of.
You can access Pluto TV through smart TVs or via your Virgin Media TV box.
