MOVIE legend Sigourney Weaver is poised to sign for the second outing of Disney’s spin-off television series, Alien: Earth.

But one of the most acclaimed spin-offs has been Alien: Earth, a prequel set two years before the movie.
Which means Sigourney’s character, who died in 1992’s Alien 3, is alive.
A TV insider said: “It’s not clear just how Sigourney would be involved in the show as Ripley would be almost 50 years younger than the actress is now.
“Whether or not she returns as Ripley, or as some other character, remains to be seen, but this sci-fi epic always provides plenty of opportunities to do something radical.”
In Alien Resurrection, the fourth movie in the series, there was a spectacular return by Sigourney.
She came back to play a clone of the late Ellen Ripley, but also had some of the eerie qualities of the xenomorph extraterrestrial at the heart of the franchise.
The second series of Alien: Earth is currently filming in the UK, and was last known to be stationed at Bamburgh Castle in .
Sigourney has heaped praise on the TV series and was last year rumoured to be in talks with bosses about a potential return, though it wasn’t clear if that was meant to be in the TV series or another movie.
Gushing about the show and its director Noah Hawley, she said: “What I admire about it is that the scope is so much more profound than just an Alien movie.
“It’s about our world and what’s dominating the world in 100 years, and to me it’s right on.
“And the monsters that he’s also bringing in are just terrifying. It’s like, we don’t have enough problems with the alien, we need 50 more . . . I can’t believe I’m watching TV.”

The Traitors champ invited the musician to his baronial mansion, which is the centrepiece for Alan’s new Disney+ show Castle Man .
On his Life’s A Beach podcast, Alan said: “Rita, my deaf dog, attacked his sporran – it’s the hairy bit that hangs above the kilt.
“He was like, ‘Keep your dog under f***ing control.
“Instead of telling the dog off, I was slagging off the Scottish national dress – ‘It looks like a puppy you’ve got between your legs.’
“I should have said something, but you do get very protective, don’t you? And my dog can’t do anything wrong . . . ”
Alan revealed he thought bagpipers hide something traditionally Scottish in their sporrans.
The comedian said: “I asked, ‘What do you put in it?’
“‘Oh my vape’.
“I was expecting some romantic thing . . . a wee dram of whisky or a Robert Burns poem!”
GARY LINEKER’s The Rest Is Football will remain on Netflix beyond the World Cup and through the Premier League season on a two-year deal.
Alongside the regular podcast, the show will air Monday to Friday from August for 40 weeks then extend through to Euros in 2028.
