CORONATION Street have signed up a TV legend to make her comeback to the show – TWENTY years after she was last on the cobbles.
The Sun can reveal that actress Elizabeth Rider, 68, is returning to the soap this summer.

Elizabeth was last appeared on in 2006, when she played Ashley Peacock’s biological mum.
This time she’ll be playing a new role, which will be confirmed soon by bosses.
A source told The Sun: “Corrie bosses are delighted to have tempted Elizabeth for a short stint on the cobbles.
“She’s a legendary actress with a huge amount of talent and everyone’s thrilled she’s here.”

ITV had no comment when approached by The Sun.
This will be the TV star’s fourth tole on Coronation Street.
Along with playing Ashely’s mum, Elizabeth previously starred as far back as 1999 in two separate, different roles.
The star is also one of the few actors to have appeared in all four British with parts in , and .
She also had a recurring role in ‘s Doctors, where she played DCI Lynette Driver.
Elizabeth has enjoyed an incredible career as an actress, which doesn’t just include soaps.
